BYD HMI Redesign
A driver-centric interface that simplifies interactions while delivering a modern aesthetic with a new reimagined interface for a seamless and intuitive experience.
Project background
BYD is a global leader in electric vehicles, renowned for its innovation and sustainability. However, as the company expanded into international markets, its in-car HMI systems faced challenges in catering to diverse user needs and cultural preferences. The project aimed to address these challenges by creating a new HMI design which was localized and intuitive that would appeal to users across different regions.
Design Concept
The concept emphasized voice-first interaction, providing a language-adaptive voice assistant to cater to various global markets. The design also included an old telephone like app drawer, a home screen for recently used widgets and a split-screen interface for multitasking, such as navigation and entertainment, ensuring a seamless driving experience.
